Mack Trucks Conference 2008

In October 2008, Brisbane played host to the Business Meeting Update conference for Mack trucks. Staged across three venues over two days, the conference program combined highly engaging business analysis within a relaxed and network friendly environment. With many delegates travelling from interstate, the ability to network with their peers remained important to the overall success of this conference, and believe us, not a minute was wasted. When you get this group started on trucks, you can’t stop them. Their passion is real, for trucks that is.

The conference proper kicked off in the very swanky Emporium Hotel located in one of the designer precincts of Fortitude Valley. The hotel is as bold as the whole Mack brand, and somewhere behind the coloured glass exterior a room full of Mack delegates knuckled down to some serious business. As with previous conferences, the colour identity for Mack features the use of red, black, and white. The conference room was set classroom style, with wide rows of tables covered in white tablecloths. A small stage finished in black served as the presentation area, where a striking chrome and acrylic lectern was also supplied. Black drapes were installed along the presentation wall, whilst uplights featured three drops of red satin hung in front of the drapes. With numerous figures and reports to digest, a ceiling mounted projection system was utilised to maximize the screen size and provide clear sightlines for each of the delegates.

Following the business sessions in the Emporium, delegates were allowed an opportunity to freshen up before boarding a private bus to take them to the dinner venue. If there is one thing that is better than talking about trucks, it’s having a beer whilst talking about trucks. And where is the best place to get a beer? At the brewery of course! So where should we have dinner? At the Alehouse of course! And so it was that the Mack delegates descended on the heavy wood and brass surroundings of the Alehouse for a night of good food and cheer.
